Facebook to Classify All New Videos as Reels, Simplifying Content Sharing

1 min read

Meta Platforms announced on Tuesday that all newly uploaded videos on Facebook will soon be automatically classified as Reels, making it easier for users to publish and share visual content.

The company explained that Reels on Facebook will no longer have length or format restrictions and will encompass all types of video content short clips, longer videos, and live streams. Existing videos uploaded before this change will remain as they are, while new posts will be categorized under Reels. Additionally, Facebook’s Video tab will be renamed the Reels tab to reflect this update.

As part of the new features, users will receive prompts to confirm their audience settings or adjust them if their feed posts and Reels currently have different privacy options. The update will also provide access to more creative tools, enhancing the content creation experience.

Meta said these changes will be rolled out gradually across profiles and pages worldwide over the coming months, aiming to unify and streamline video sharing on the platform.
