Book-loving expatriate Bangladeshis living in different cities in Germany attended this informal event at a local hall in Frankfurt on Saturday. The chief organizer of the event was Shaheen Hasan, a German expatriate poet and lyricist.
In the first part of this three-part program, the covers of several books written by poet Shaheen Hasan were unveiled. In addition, Dr. Dr. German diaspora medical doctor. A bridge builder and fan memoir on Ghulam Abu Zakaria showcases several books written by expatriates including Professor Zakaria, a pioneer of Bangladesh medical physics.
In the second phase, Germany’s highest civilian title ‘Federal Cross of Merit’ award-winning medical physicist Professor Dr. Ghulam Abu Zakaria was felicitated.
Prof. Dr. Golam Abu Zakaria, poet and critic. Prabhu Majumder, Anees Haque, Filmmaker Shaheen Dil Riaz, and many others. The organizer poet Shaheen Hasan gave a welcome speech on the occasion. The program was jointly presented by journalists Fatema Rahman Ruma and Rakib Ullah.
Hafizur Rahman Alam recited a poem written by national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at the beginning of the cultural evening in the third part of the program. German expatriate artist Tahmina Ferdowsi performed patriotic songs at the event. Apart from this, Real Anwar, Babul Talukder, Delwar Zahid Biplab, Debashish Bagchi, Abhijit Biswas, Nimmi Quader, Ranju Sarkar, Akhil Sharma, and many others took part in the cultural phase of the program.
