A heartfelt protest unfolded in front of Milestone School and College in Uttara from early morning. Hundreds of students gathered to block the road, expressing their anger over the recent plane crash that resulted in casualties and injuries. They demanded justice for their lost loved ones, accurate accounting of the victims’ bodies, and compensation.
The protest was organized in response to the tragic plane crash that occurred just a day earlier on the college campus, which left many injured and dead. Banners and placards bore messages such as “Justice or Body of Our Children,” and “Accurate Count of the Deceased.” The students sat peacefully on the road, voicing their six-point demands. Despite repeated requests from police to disperse, the students remained firm in their stance and continued their demonstration. They clarified that they do not seek violence but are determined to stand against injustice.
The students’ six demands include:
- Confirm and publicly release the names and addresses of the deceased
- Prepare an accurate list of the injured
- Unconditional apology for misconduct by teachers
- Provide compensation
- Cancel unsafe flights and reform pilot training procedures
