Emergency services swarmed an Air New Zealand plane at Sydney Airport after it pulled into a gate following a security incident.
The Airbus A320 plane, operating flight NZ247 from Wellington, had been operating at the end of the runway. There were reports of a bomb threat on board the aircraft.
The aircraft touched down at 5.30pm and was isolated at the end of the runway before pulling in more than an hour later at 6.45pm. Firefighters and paramedics closely followed the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
Air New Zealand’s chief operational integrity and safety officer, Captain David Morgan, confirmed the airline was aware of the incident and is working with local authorities.
