An 18-year-old man, who was allegedly stabbed during a confrontation at Elizabeth Shopping Centre in Adelaide’s north, has been identified as Ned* (full name withheld for privacy).

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon and left Ned seriously injured, prompting his urgent transfer to the hospital.

Police have since charged three teenagers in connection with the attack. Two of them, aged 16 and 17, are facing charges of assault and affray, while a 14-year-old has been charged with affray. According to reports, Ned was attacked while he was ordering food at the shopping centre when the group allegedly set upon him.

The 14-year-old, who was released on bail, appeared in court, where it was revealed that he had previously been investigated for possession of child exploitation material. Despite the serious nature of the charges, the court has permitted him to return to school three days a week under strict conditions. He is also barred from leaving his home at night as part of his bail terms.

The incident has raised concerns over youth violence, with police continuing their investigations into what led to the altercation.
