The Dhaka Metropolitan Police has carried out a significant reshuffle, transferring deputy commissioners across four important divisions in a move described as routine administrative restructuring. The changes were announced in an official notification signed by Acting Commissioner Md Sarwar on Sunday, with the new postings taking effect immediately.
According to the order, M Tanvir Ahmed, previously the Deputy Commissioner of Traffic-Ramna, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan. Md Mostak Sarkar, who served as Deputy Commissioner of DB-Lalbagh, has been transferred to Mirpur. In a reciprocal shift, Rownak Alam, the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan, will now take charge of DB-Lalbagh. Meanwhile, Md Moinul Haque, formerly Deputy Commissioner of Mirpur, has been reassigned to Ramna (Traffic).
DMP officials said the reshuffle is part of ongoing administrative adjustments aimed at ensuring operational efficiency across the capital. The order will remain in force until further notice and has been issued in the public interest.
