Dhaka Metropolitan Police Imposes Ban on Rallies and Processions Near Chief Adviser’s Residence

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a ban on all forms of rallies, processions, human chains, and sit-in demonstrations in and around key locations including Jamuna, the official residence of the chief adviser, and the Bangladesh Secretariat.

The restriction will take effect from Wednesday, according to a notification issued by the DMP on Tuesday.

The ban covers several areas to maintain public order and ensure the safety of the chief adviser, including the Secretariat, Jamuna, the intersection near Hotel InterContinental, Kakrail Mosque intersection, Officers’ Club intersection, and Mintoo Road.

The notification was signed by Acting Commissioner Md Sarwar.
