Cruel man pours coffee on nine month old baby

1 min read

Baby Luka was with his mother in Hanlon Park when a stranger allegedly tipped a thermos of hot coffee over the nine-month-old boy before fleeing on foot.

Police are investigating whether the man accused of pouring scalding hot coffee on a baby has fled the country.  Baby Luka suffered severe burns and had since endured multiple surgeries but the man who allegedly perpetrated the callous act remains missing.

Queensland Police on Saturday confirmed that they had widened their search and were now looking overseas for him.

“Detectives are continuing to investigate the matter and are working with interstate and international partner agencies to progress the investigation,” a spokesperson said.

“An update to media will be provided on Monday.” Police have released an image of the man they believe could assist their investigation.

He is described as aged between 30-40 years old, of a proportionate build, with tanned skin. At the time of the alleged attack, the man wore a black hat, glasses, a shirt and shorts.
