Cricket Set for Exciting New Chapter with Tri-Nation Series

2 min read

A new wave of excitement is brewing in the cricket world as plans take shape for a unique tri-nation series involving Bangladesh, Australia, and Pakistan next year. The tournament aims to serve as a crucial preparation for the 2026 T Twenty20 World Cup, giving participating teams an early opportunity to hone their skills.

Sources indicate that Pakistan is eyeing mid-February for the series, which was initially envisioned as a three-match bilateral series between Australia and Pakistan. However, considering current circumstances, the plan has evolved into a three-team tournament involving all three nations. Cricket Australia is reportedly preparing for the event, following past engagements such as the five-match T Twenty20 series against Bangladesh in 2021 before the World Cup and a series of Test and One Day Internationals in Sri Lanka ahead of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

Australia is also gearing up for the 2026 T Twenty20 World Cup, which will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. As part of their preparations, they are keen on playing a series in Pakistan in February. Instead of a straightforward bilateral series, this time the teams may face each other in a tri-nation format, promising more competitive thrill and strategic testing.
