In Berlin, the capital of Germany, a discussion meeting was held to commemorate the historic November 7 National Revolution and Solidarity Day. Organized by the Germany branch of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), the event took place at a local hall and saw the participation of various leaders and activists from the BNP, including its youth and volunteer wings.

The meeting was chaired by Akul Mia, the president of BNP Germany, and conducted by Mostak Mannan, the party’s first joint general secretary. The keynote address was delivered by Anwar Hossain Khokon, the international affairs secretary of the BNP’s national executive committee. Goni Sarkar, the general secretary of BNP Germany, served as the main speaker.

Special guests included Apu Chowdhury, vice president of BNP Germany; Saiful Majumder, another vice president; Masihur Alam Babli, joint general secretary; Shariyat Khan Mithu, international affairs secretary; along with others like Abirul Islam Imon and Abdul Kadir.

The speakers emphasized the significant role of the late President Ziaur Rahman, who led the armed struggle for independence on March 26, 1971. They noted that even in 1975, during a time of crisis in both civil and military sectors, Ziaur Rahman emerged as a savior. Following the combined revolution of the soldiers and the people, he was released from captivity and went on to fulfill the promises of the great liberation war by leading the country towards progress through the introduction of multi-party democracy and a 19-point program.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the contributions of Ziaur Rahman to Bangladesh’s history and the ongoing commitment of the BNP to uphold his legacy.
