Coastal areas of Bangladesh are bracing for rainfall over the next 72 hours, starting tomorrow, as a well-marked low pressure system develops in the Bay of Bengal, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
Despite the formation of this low, BMD Meteorologist Tariful Newaz Kabir has indicated that it is unlikely to intensify further. He noted that temperatures across the country could rise during this period as the system moves toward the Tamil Nadu coast of India.
Currently situated over the southwest Bay and its adjacent regions, the low has strengthened from a previous low-pressure system in the central parts of the Bay.
The BMD’s morning weather bulletin predicts rainfall activities on both Friday and Saturday. Specifically, light to moderate rain or thunder showers are expected in isolated areas of the Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions within the next 24 hours, starting at 9:00 AM tomorrow.
While some regions may experience precipitation, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry elsewhere, with only a temporary partly cloudy sky anticipated across the country.
