Chief Adviser Prof. Mohammad Yunus has reiterated his commitment to holding the 13th parliamentary election by December of this year during a speech at the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai.
Addressing an audience that included leaders from 30 nations, 140 delegations, and 6,000 participants, Yunus emphasized that the national election could proceed in December following the implementation of the July Charter, which is based on recommendations from the National Consensus Commission.
This assurance follows a meeting on February 10, where Yunus confirmed to a delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) that the interim government is actively working toward the December election timeline.
His statements come amid ongoing tensions between the BNP and Jamaat, as both parties debate whether electoral reforms or elections should take precedence.
