On January 1, 2025, Wednesday, club members convened at Lambert Reserve Park in Sydney, embodying a spirit of togetherness. This annual gathering has become a symbol of harmony, earning a cherished place in the hearts of all attendees.

The club’s commitment extends beyond mere news reporting; its members are dedicated to community development while also pledging to share joy as one family. This ethos transformed the day into a unique celebration for members and their families, filled with exuberance and cheer.

The primary aim of the event was to spend quality time with family, serving both as a source of entertainment and a means to strengthen personal bonds.

A highlight of this year’s celebration was the special recognition awarded to the club’s cultural secretary, Eliza Azad Tumpa, for her recent election as a councilor from Camden Council. Club president Rahmatullah presented this honor, and members beamed with pride over her achievement, ensuring that no one missed the chance to congratulate her.

The club’s vice president, Kazi Sultana Simi, played a significant role during the event, gifting her written works to distinguished guests and esteemed club members from Sydney, which inspired all present.

Special guests included Eliza Azad’s father, freedom fighter Azadul Islam, and his wife, who traveled all the way from Bangladesh, adding a distinctive dimension to the occasion.

Following a delightful barbecue, President Rahmatullah made a formal announcement, declaring that every January 1st will be celebrated as Family Reunion Day. He encouraged everyone to mark their calendars for next year, ensuring that no one misses this joyous occasion.

The event concluded on a sweet note with the cutting of a cake in honor of Eliza Azad, marking the end of a gathering that had transformed into a memorable festivity, forever etched in the minds of all as they welcomed the new year.
