Bulbul and Fahim Secure Uncontested Wins as Three Nominations Rejected in BCB Election

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election has taken a decisive turn after the Election Commission declared three nominations invalid, leaving 48 candidates in the race for director positions.

The deadline for submitting nomination papers closed at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Out of 60 forms collected, 51 were officially submitted, and following scrutiny on Monday, three were rejected.

Among the disqualified candidates was Abdullah Fuad Redwan from Dhaka Division. His exclusion cleared the path for former national cricketers Aminul Islam Bulbul and Nazmul Abedeen Fahim to be elected unopposed from the division.

In Category 1, which represents districts and divisions, 25 nominations were filed. These included three from Dhaka, five from Chattogram, three from Khulna, four from Rajshahi, three from Sylhet, six from Rangpur, and one from Barishal.

Category 2, representing Dhaka clubs, saw 32 nominations, while Category 3 added another three.

With the final count now at 48 valid candidates, the stage is set for a competitive election, though Dhaka Division’s outcome has already been decided with Bulbul and Fahim securing uncontested victories.
