Gun violence has once again scarred New York City, with a deadly shooting erupting in the early hours of Sunday at a Brooklyn restaurant. Three people were killed and at least 12 others injured when gunfire broke out at “Taste of the City Lounge” in Crown Heights. The NYPD suspects the incident may be gang-related.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at 3:27 a.m. local time, finding multiple victims at the scene. A 19-year-old man died instantly, while two others aged 27 and 35 succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The wounded include nine men and three women, ranging in age from 19 to 61. Fortunately, none of the injuries are currently considered life-threatening.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated that the shooting may have stemmed from a personal dispute amid a crowded gathering. While some victims may have been involved in the altercation, innocent bystanders were also caught in the crossfire. Investigators recovered 42 shell casings from the scene, but no arrests have been made yet.

The incident has reignited concerns over gang activity and public safety in New York, as authorities continue their search for suspects and motives behind the attack.
