A wave of high-profile burglaries has rocked Los Angeles, culminating in the arrest of four teenagers accused of breaking into the home of Hollywood star Brad Pitt. The suspects two 18-year-olds, a 17-year-old, and a 16-year-old are believed to be part of a street gang targeting celebrity residences across the city.
The break-in occurred late on June 25 at Pitt’s Los Feliz property, a secluded three-bedroom home near Griffith Park. According to police, the group scaled a perimeter fence, shattered a window, and ransacked the house before fleeing with stolen items. Pitt was overseas at the time, promoting his latest film, F1: The Movie.
Authorities tracked the suspects over several weeks and arrested them following another burglary in Orange County. Investigators say the teens used sophisticated tactics to monitor their targets, including planting hidden cameras and deploying wi-fi jammers to disable security systems.
While police have not disclosed what was taken from Pitt’s home, the incident is part of a broader pattern of celebrity break-ins this year. Other victims include Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and former LAFC striker Olivier Giroud.
Law enforcement officials warn that public figures are increasingly vulnerable due to their highly visible schedules and social media activity. Police Chief Jim McDonnell urged caution, noting that even casual online posts can tip off criminals to a person’s whereabouts.
The suspects are currently being held without bail as the investigation continues. For now, the city’s elite are on edge, and the spotlight has shifted from red carpets to security cameras.
