The BNP has convened its first formal meeting since the 13th National Parliamentary Election, marking a significant moment for the party as it begins shaping its post‑election strategy. The meeting began shortly before 8pm on Saturday at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan, chaired by BNP Chairperson and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

According to BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan, several senior leaders attended the session, including Standing Committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Moin Khan, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
Nazrul Islam Khan and Begum Selima Rahman joined virtually.

One key figure, Mirza Abbas, could not attend as he is currently receiving treatment at Singapore General Hospital.

Party sources say the meeting is expected to discuss BNP’s nominations for reserved women’s seats in parliament, alongside a broader review of the government’s recent activities and the party’s organisational condition following the election.

The gathering signals the BNP’s first major internal consultation since forming government, with leaders expected to outline priorities for the coming parliamentary session and assess the political landscape ahead.
