The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is actively engaged in initiatives both in Australia and Bangladesh, continuing its efforts with a discussion and iftar event to commemorate Independence Day.
This special iftar and prayer gathering, organized by BNP Australia, took place on March 29, Saturday, at the Star Hall Room in Rockdale, Sydney. Under the guidance of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, the event was held to pray for the health of the party leader, Begum Khaleda Zia. The gathering was chaired by BNP Australia President Md. Mosleh Uddin Howlader Arif and General Secretary Md. Abul Hasan.
The program began with a recitation from the Quran by Maulana Dr. Ferdous Ahmed, who also led a special prayer.
Several guests addressed the attendees, including former General Secretary Liaquat Ali Swapan, former Vice President Ruhul Ahmed Sawdagar, and other prominent leaders. They recalled the contributions of the late President Ziaur Rahman in 1971 and highlighted the enthusiasm for the upcoming student-led movement in 2024. The speakers emphasized, “The Zia family has led during every moment of crisis.”
The leaders expressed hope that a caretaker government would soon guide Bangladesh toward the right destination through a proper electoral roadmap.
Inspired by the spirit of safeguarding Bangladesh’s independence and democracy, BNP Australia will continue its activities, aiming to open new horizons in the country’s future politics.
