Actress Blake Lively is facing mounting criticism after issuing subpoenas to multiple journalists, entertainment outlets, and social media influencers as part of her ongoing legal battle with It Ends with Us director Justin Baldoni, whom she has accused of sexual harassment and retaliation allegations he denies.
Broadcaster Megyn Kelly went viral after delivering a blistering on-air takedown, calling Lively a “narcissistic, liar, bully, brat” and claiming the actress’s legal team tried to obtain her private communications. Kelly argued her criticism of Lively was entirely her own and not part of any smear campaign, framing her pushback as a defense of press freedom.
Gossip blogger Perez Hilton also appeared in court over a subpoena from Lively. Representing himself due to high legal costs, Hilton insisted he had never been paid or influenced to speak negatively about the actress.
A Nevada judge will soon decide whether the case remains in the state or is transferred to New York a move Hilton says he is ready to challenge. The subpoenas have fueled debate over free speech, media independence, and the limits of legal discovery in high-profile celebrity disputes.
