Bangladesh is set to observe the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers on Thursday, honoring the contributions and sacrifices of those who serve in UN peacekeeping missions. The day’s events will include a series of activities, as announced by the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).
The celebrations will kick off in the morning with the “Peacekeepers’ Run/Rally 2025,” dedicated to remembering the brave personnel who have participated in UN peace operations. Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam will join as the chief guest for this event.
Later, around 11:00 am, a solemn ceremony will be held at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Center. During this gathering, wounded peacekeepers will be formally recognized and honored, and a special presentation highlighting Bangladesh’s role in UN peacekeeping activities will be showcased.
Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed is expected to attend as the chief guest for the ceremony.
In addition to these events, the day will be marked by the publication of special journals and newspaper supplements emphasizing the importance of peacekeeping efforts.
