The government has simultaneously transferred 158 Upazila Executive Officers (UNOs) across all eight divisions, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday night.
The order states that the officials must be released from their current postings and join their new workplaces by November 30. If they fail to do so, they will be considered automatically released from their current positions on that date. Officials whose offices have already changed must submit their joining letters with the updated office name and address. The directive, issued in the public interest, takes immediate effect.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, the government appointed 166 new UNOs in different upazilas. Earlier that same day, at noon, 64 district Superintendents of Police (SPs) were also reshuffled in a major administrative move.
