All mobile phone users across Bangladesh will receive 1GB of free internet data on Friday, July 18, as part of the “Free Internet Day” initiative organized by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to mark July Uprising Day.

The free data will be available for five days, and the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has instructed all mobile operators to ensure its distribution.

In a circular issued on July 16, the BTRC’s Systems and Services Division stated that the initiative aims to honor the July Uprising, meet public expectations, and serve the public interest.

The directive, which was sent to mobile operators on July 9, mandates providing all users with 1GB of free data, valid for five days, on July 18.
