Bangladesh finished Day Two of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle at 423 for 4, with rain and poor light forcing an early Tea break.

Mushfiqur Rahim was unbeaten on 159, and Litton Das was on 61*, their partnership adding a crucial 114 runs. The pair played fluently in the afternoon, surviving key chances and building a strong foundation.

Mushfiqur narrowly escaped lbw after Sri Lanka reviewed an appeal on a delivery from Milan Rathnayake. Ball-tracking indicated it would have clipped the leg stump, but the on-field decision remained the umpire’s call. During the appeal, Mushfiqur and Litton managed to steal three runs.

Earlier, Mushfiqur reached his 150 with a boundary off Tharindu Rathnayake, marking his seventh score above 150 in Tests. Litton, under pressure after a long lean patch, scored a vital half-century his first in 26 international innings across all formats.

Both batsmen faced nervy moments Litton was dropped on 14, and Mushfiqur survived a run-out chance on 126 yet Sri Lanka failed to capitalize on these opportunities.

Rain started falling shortly after the lbw review, and with the outfield quickly covered, play was paused just after 2:00 PM local time. The teams headed in for Tea, hoping to resume later in the day.
