This captivating event transformed a once-luxury automotive showroom into a pulsating hub of artistic expression, proving that innovation can flourish in the most unexpected spaces.

Kicking off on April 26th at Meta Garage, this month-long celebration of Bangladeshi art drew crowds eager to experience a cultural bridge between East and West. Over the course of its duration, the exhibition illuminated the diverse talents of eleven distinguished Bangladeshi artists whose works span painting, textiles, multimedia, and digital art. From augmented reality-enhanced sculptures to the groundbreaking launch of twelve NFTs, the event was a testament to the country’s vibrant artistic evolution.

Guided by the visionary Niharika Momtaz, founder of Bangladesh Art Week and the curator of ‘Ora Egaro Jon,’ alongside co-curator Venus Hossein, the exhibition aimed to elevate Bangladesh’s cultural profile on the global stage. “My dream is to showcase Bangladesh’s artistic spirit to the world,” Momtaz shared passionately. “The positive reactions we received reaffirm that our creative voices are ready to resonate internationally.”

The atmosphere at Meta Garage was electric, filled with visitors from all walks of life, including a significant number of Bangladeshi expatriates. Many expressed pride and excitement at seeing their homeland’s artistic talent celebrated abroad. Nourine, Director of the Alliance Française in Dubai, was among the distinguished guests, praising the event’s role in fostering cultural dialogue.

This initiative not only spotlighted the exceptional skills of Bangladesh’s artists but also championed women’s empowerment through art. As a platform dedicated to elevating Bangladeshi culture, Bangladesh Art Week continues to forge new paths for its creators on the global arts scene.

‘Ora Egaro Jon’ culminated in a kaleidoscope of colors and ideas, leaving an indelible mark on Dubai’s cultural landscape. It stands as a powerful reminder that art is a universal language capable of transcending borders, uniting communities, and amplifying voices from the heart of Bangladesh to the world.
