The Bangladesh Army, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, arrested 385 individuals involved in various crimes during joint operations across the country from June 19 to June 26, according to a statement from the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate.
The detainees include terrorists, illegal arms dealers, smugglers, juvenile gang members, extortionists, kidnappers, illegal occupants, robbers, and those involved in embezzling TCB products. The operation also targeted brokers engaged in illegal recruitment, traders of adulterated food, illegal sand miners, perpetrators of mob violence, drug dealers, and drug addicts.
During the crackdown, the armed forces recovered a significant cache of illegal items, including 26 firearms, 70 types of ammunition, 11 crude bombs, narcotics, domestic weapons linked to terrorist activities, stolen goods, laptops, mobile phones, and cash.
The individuals are now in custody at local police stations, where they will undergo interrogation and face legal proceedings, the ISPR added.
