Bangladesh Institute of Marine Technology (BIMT) Alumni Association celebrated Bengali New Year festival in Singapore. The ceremony was held on Saturday (April 27) at Barliershed, Labrador Park, Singapore.
The organization was formed in 2006 by the former students of Bangladesh Institute of Marine Technology, which is working to establish good relations between the Bengali community living in Singapore and to highlight the Bengali cultural heritage abroad.
More than 400 guests attended the Bengali New Year 1431 celebration of BIMT Alumni Association. The presence of famous guests of Bangladesh was also quite noticeable. Huge attendance makes the Varshavaran festival vibrant and festive.
President of the organization Asaduzzaman emphasized on social solidarity in his speech. Calling for unity and harmony, he emphasized on building a prosperous Bangladeshi community through collective efforts of all.
The general secretary of the organization Dalimuzzaman congratulated everyone and urged everyone to forget all the sorrows of the old year and start anew.
