Australia stunned the whole of India. The Aussies won the 2023 Cricket World Cup title on Indian land. They have won the 6th World Cup, the highest in history.
Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium turned into an ocean of blue on Sunday. Millions of Indian fans dreamed of Rohit Sharma lifting the World Cup after an era in his own country. The group was also in that orbit. But Travis Head and Marnus Labuchen stood in the way. Both slowly took the match away from India. In the end, they were the difference. Australia won the final by 6 wickets.
India did not bat as expected in the final. India’s middle order was challenged for the first time in the entire World Cup. Team India’s batsmen failed to take the challenge in service itself. The Indian batsmen suffered from a continuous boundary drought throughout the match. India’s middle order did not see 35 consecutive over boundaries in two rounds. Naturally, the run was not to their liking.
