Australia’s tour of the West Indies has proven to be a different challenge altogether, shifting from Test cricket to T20s. After losing the three-match Test series 3-0 on home soil, the Caribbean team faced another humiliating defeat in the T20 format. Today’s match saw West Indies lose by three wickets, resulting in a series sweep with Australia winning all five matches.
In the match held in St Kitts, West Indies posted a total of 170 runs batting first. Australia chased down the target comfortably, reaching it with three wickets in hand and 18 balls to spare. Previously, on this ground, they had scored 214 and 205 in the first two games but failed to win.
From the start, West Indies struggled, losing wickets early. Shimron Hetmyer anchored the innings with a half-century. In response, Australia’s batting was aggressive and entertaining. Opener Tim David made an explosive start, scoring 30 off just 12 balls before being dismissed. After his dismissal, Mitch Marsh took charge, smashing 37 runs off 17 balls. Aaron Hardie then finished the game with a quick 28 runs off 25 balls, sealing the victory easily for the visitors.
