Like every year this year Rondhonu Aus-Bangla Cultural Society distributed awards to students of Bangladeshi origin in various categories. On the initiative of Rondhonu, this event was organized on November 11th every Saturday evening at the Lakember Senior Citizen Center in Sydney’s Bangla Town.
Ayesha Ahmed, the current president of Rondhonu, announced the inauguration of the program by playing the national anthems of Bangladesh and Australia.
At the beginning of the program, Shafin Zaman recited the Quran, Apsara, and Ariana performed a mesmerizing dance to the rhythm of Bengali songs, and Bharm performed a melodious song. Among the chief guests of the program were New South Wales MP Sophie Costi and Councilors Carl Saleh and Sabreen Faruqi.
A total of 36 people were awarded in seven categories based on various examinations of 2023. The program was conducted by Lincoln Shafiqullah, a member of the Rangdhanu family, and assisted by Sadia, Ariana, Apsara, and Ishika.
Abdul Motaleb, Wahab Mia, Lincoln Shafiqullah, Shamsuzzaman Shamim, Nafis Khandkar, Saidul Haque Mitul, Moshiur Babu, Polly Ahmed, Rana Sharif, and Zobair Rashid Jami, one of the members of the Rondhonu family, worked extremely hard to make this event a success.
Finally, Rondhonu General Secretary Khandaker Ahsan Prince delivered the vote of thanks and declared the event over.
