Hollywood’s admiration continues to grow as Ana de Armas publicly thanks Tom Cruise for his unwavering support of her upcoming film, “Ballerina.” The actress, who is set to star alongside Cruise in the upcoming project “Deeper,” expressed her appreciation after the “Mission: Impossible” star recently watched her new movie, which is set in the gritty universe of Keanu Reeves’ acclaimed “John Wick” franchise.
De Armas shared that Cruise, known for his dedication to cinema and the industry’s success, recently viewed “Ballerina” and came away impressed. “You know what, he supports every movie. He really wants the industry and cinema to do well and (wants) people going to the theatres. We’re working together, so he got to see ‘Ballerina’ and he actually really liked it. He loved the ‘John Wick’ films,” she told Variety.
The actress emphasized the importance of such support from a Hollywood icon. “It is very special that someone like him is supporting ‘Ballerina.’ It is really special in general to have other actors and people supporting each other. We can do well all together,” she added.
Tom Cruise had previously praised “Ballerina” during the promotional tour for his latest film, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.” In an interview with the Associated Press, the 62-year-old star lauded the creative team behind the film, including de Armas and Reeves, for their dedication to the “John Wick” universe.
“‘John Wick,’ I love that franchise and what those guys do,” Cruise said, highlighting his appreciation for the franchise’s impact and the talented team involved.
As “Ballerina” prepares for its theatrical release this month, the backing from Hollywood’s biggest names signals a strong vote of confidence and a promising future for the film.
