Quota reform protestors set the political office of a lawmaker on fire, ransacked two police boxes, and damaged several roadside CCTV cameras during the pre-scheduled program in Chattogram on Saturday.
Several thousand protesters, mainly students, gathered at New Market Intersection in the city around 2:30 pm on Saturday as part of the central program.
People from all walks of life and various professions joined the protest program in processions from different parts of the city.
The protesters were marching towards Tigerpass from the gathering around 5:30 pm and as they reached the area, they vandalized a police box there.
They also set fire to the political office of local lawmaker Mohiuddin Bachchu in the area.
Earlier, they vandalized a police box and roadside CCTV cameras in the New Market area of the city during the agitation.
