In a move that promises to deepen the bond between neighbors across the Tasman Sea, Qantas is set to launch direct flights from Adelaide to Auckland, bringing the vineyards of South Australia and the snowy slopes of New Zealand within easy reach for holidaymakers on both sides.

Starting October 31, the inaugural QF175 flight will mark the beginning of a new chapter in regional connectivity. Operating four times a week on a Boeing 737-800, the route promises a scenic four-hour and 15-minute journey, opening a gateway not only to New Zealand’s stunning landscapes but also to a broader route to New York City via Auckland. Travelers can secure an introductory fare of just $699 return in economy, making the trip even more enticing.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas expressed his enthusiasm, emphasizing the route’s potential to strengthen ties. “It will bring Australians and New Zealanders even closer,” he said, highlighting its significance in fostering cultural and economic links. “It also connects South Australians directly to New York City with a single stop, reinforcing our partnership with key allies and markets.”

Auckland, a bustling metropolis of 1.7 million, is renowned as New Zealand’s premier tourism hub. Visitors are drawn to its iconic Sky Tower, the picturesque Waiheke Island, and the historic Auckland War Memorial Museum.

With this new route, the distance between South Australia’s scenic vineyards and New Zealand’s vibrant cityscape is set to shrink, promising exciting adventures and stronger bonds across the ocean.
