Sydney, a city of many cultural people, often hosts entertainment or commercial events. However, the exception here is the non-profit organization UDOY. As a new horizon begins at sunrise, so is this organization.
A fundraising event for cancer research was organized by the organization at Epping Public School in Sydney on Sunday (October 22). Organizers said all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Cancer Council of Australia. The program started at 9 am and lasted till 2 pm with spontaneous participation of all. Australia’s mainstream political leaders and dignitaries participated. The invited guests applauded the effort taken to raise the money and spend it on the welfare of the victims.
President of UDOY Inc. Dr. Laila Arzuman said, “we have worked tirelessly for the past few months, and today everyone’s presence has benefited us. We want to work together to fight cancer. We will maintain continuity.”
Hornsby Council Mayor Philip Ruddock AO, Senator Maria Kovacik, New South Wales Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Curre, New South Wales MLC Jackie Munro and Councilor Cameron McLane, Parramatta Lord Mayor Peary Esber, Auburn Hospital Chairman Dr. Ayaz Chowdhury, President of Bangladesh Medical Society of New South Wales Dr. Ali Reza, president of Shapla Saluk Club. In addition to Mainul Islam, the businessmen were Sulaiman Ashrafi Dewan, Srabanti Ashrafi Kazi, Syed Mahbub Morshed, Md. S Kabir, MD Humayun Kabir.
Among the local councilors present were Sajeda Akhter, Srini Pillamari, and Sabreen Farooqui. To encourage this event, the Premier of New South Wales, Hon’ble Chris Means, congratulated the UDOY organization and applauded their overall activities in a video message.
