Once again, Zia Forum has demonstrated unparalleled organizational prowess, transforming last Saturday’s Victory Fair at Wali Park into a vibrant symbol of festivity. This year’s highlight was the enchanting performance by popular singer Mila, who captivated the audience with her mesmerizing voice.
Sponsored by Nirala Holdings, the event paid homage to Martyred Intellectuals Day, beginning with the national anthems of Bangladesh and Australia. A poignant tribute was offered to the martyrs of the Liberation War, with special reverence for Shaheed Ziaur Rahman.
Gracing the occasion was Mr. Tony Burke MP, Australia’s Minister for Home Affairs, Immigration, and Multiculturalism, who inaugurated the fair. He lauded Zia Forum’s past initiatives and emphasized the significance of his visit to Bangladesh. Special guest Mr. Mark Coure MP praised the forum for showcasing Bangladeshi culture.
The event was attended by notable political and social figures, including Shahe Jaman Titu, Masud Khalil, and Sanjida Akter. Under the leadership of Zia Forum’s President Sohel Mahmud Iqbal, General Secretary Zakir Alam (Lenin) welcomed the guests, with Tafatun Naim Nitu and Poly Farhad orchestrating the program.
A large and enthusiastic crowd enhanced the fair’s appeal, with stalls offering traditional Bangladeshi cuisine, clothing, and jewelry captivating visitors. Major sponsors included Genius Home and Australia National Disability Care, alongside the principal sponsor.
Memorabilia was presented to guests, and Mr. Tony Burke MP distributed awards among sponsors. The cultural evening, featuring pop star Mila and DJ Rahat, enthralled Sydney’s music lovers, reminding expatriates that unity and culture are the enduring strengths of Bangladeshis.
