A Unified Stand in Pakistan: March for Gaza Resonates Across Borders

In a powerful display of solidarity, millions in Bangladesh have recently taken to the streets for the “March for Gaza,” protesting against the aggression of occupying Israel and expressing support for the people of Gaza. Following suit, massive crowds in Pakistan have also rallied to show their allegiance to the Palestinian cause, condemning Israeli actions while waving Palestinian flags and holding images of Hamas leaders.

On April 14, Anadolu Agency reported that thousands of Pakistanis gathered in Karachi on Sunday to protest against the Israeli bombardment of Gaza and to stand in solidarity with the besieged Palestinians. Organizers estimated that over a hundred thousand participated in what they called the “Gaza Solidarity March,” which transformed the main Shahrah-e-Faisal road into a sea of voices calling for justice.

Despite the scorching heat, demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and carried portraits of fallen Hamas leaders. Posters of these leaders were hung on electricity poles, while white-draped dolls were laid out to commemorate the children who lost their lives in Gaza, evoking deep emotion among the attendees.

The rally saw a diverse crowd, including thousands of women—many in burqas—who brought their children along. Members from Christian and Hindu communities also joined in this significant gathering.

As the protest unfolded, massive banners lining the streets boldly proclaimed messages like “Stop Bombing Gaza,” “Down with Israel,” and “Genocide in Gaza – The Muslim World Should Be Ashamed.” One of the highlights of the demonstration was a 100-foot-long Palestinian flag carried by students, symbolizing the collective strength and resolve of those advocating for justice.
