The celebration of Pohela Boishakh at Ramna Botmool concluded with a powerful message: “My liberation is in the light.” This year, the event poignantly honored the victims of Israel’s indiscriminate violence in Gaza.
On Monday morning at 8:30, in a moment of reflection, artists and attendees stood in silence for one minute, a profound gesture of mourning that underscored our shared humanity. The ceremony culminated with the performance of the national anthem by Shayanan artists, uniting all in a solemn tribute.
Before the moment of silence, Shayanan’s Executive President, Sarwar Ali, expressed deep sorrow over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, particularly condemning the atrocities against children. He urged attendees to join in remembrance of the fallen, reinforcing solidarity with the Palestinian struggle.
The festivities began at sunrise, celebrating not only the arrival of the new year but also a renewed love for nature and humanity. This year’s program was infused with melodies that inspired self-awareness and unity, delivering a powerful message that resonates in these challenging times.
May this light of liberation dispel the darkness and instill hope in every heart.
