The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is scheduled to hold a press conference today, September 30, to highlight Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and his diplomatic engagements during his recent visit to New York.
The briefing will take place at 3:30pm at the Korobi Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, according to officials.
Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu confirmed the details of the event.
During the press conference, senior officials are expected to outline key aspects of the prime minister’s visit, including his address to the UN General Assembly, meetings with world leaders, bilateral discussions, and other major engagements held on the sidelines of the international gathering.
The briefing will be addressed by Prime Minister’s Adviser and PMO spokesperson Mahdi Amin, Press Secretary Saleh Shibly, and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman recently concluded a five-day visit to New York, where he participated in the annual UN General Assembly session and held meetings with foreign dignitaries and international partners. During his address, he highlighted Bangladesh’s positions on global peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, economic cooperation, humanitarian issues, and the Rohingya crisis.
The PMO briefing is expected to provide further details on the outcomes of the visit and Bangladesh’s priorities following the high-level diplomatic engagements.
