Bali Bans Two Dutch Men Over Run Club Event Accused of Discriminating Against Locals

Bali’s Immigration Department has banned two Dutch nationals from entering Indonesia after an investigation found their run‑club event was “fraught with discrimination against local residents.” The decision follows a wave of online complaints from Indonesians about the conduct of the ‘Entourage Bali’ community, whose activities recently went viral.

In a statement, Bali’s Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko condemned the event and confirmed that immigration authorities would impose an entry ban on the two foreigners involved. He said the “Bali Silent Disco running event organised by foreign nationals” was suspected of violating regulations and showed discriminatory behaviour toward locals.

A social media post from an Entourage Bali event in May showed a large crowd running through Canggu’s streets wearing headphones and waving their hands a spectacle that drew both curiosity and criticism.

One Indonesian woman shared that when she applied to join the community, her application was marked for review, while her husband who had a “Western name and number” was accepted immediately. The allegation intensified public anger and prompted immigration authorities to act.

The case highlights growing scrutiny of foreign‑run communities in Bali, where tensions have risen over cultural sensitivity, inclusivity and respect for local residents.
