Seventy Three Candidates Regain Eligibility on Fifth Day of Election Appeal Hearings

Seventy three candidates who previously lost their nominations for the upcoming thirteenth national parliamentary election have regained their candidacy after appeal hearings on Wednesday. The Election Commission made the decision after reviewing one hundred appeals at its headquarters in Agargaon. Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed the outcome to reporters in the evening.

He said the commission heard appeals numbered from 211 to 310. Among them, seventy three were approved, restoring the candidates’ eligibility. Seventeen appeals were rejected, while decisions on ten applications have been kept pending for now. He added that the commission will continue disposing of appeals in the coming days as part of its ongoing review process.
