Fire Destroys Saint Martin-Bound Vessel in Cox’s Bazar, No Casualties Reported

A passenger vessel headed for Saint Martin was completely destroyed after a fire broke out early Saturday morning on the Bakkhali River near the Nuniachhara BIWTA jetty in Cox’s Bazar.

The blaze began around 7am and quickly engulfed The Atlantic Cruise. Authorities confirmed that no casualties have been reported. Executive Magistrate and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanzila Tasnim said firefighting crews were still working to extinguish the flames and secure the area.

“The vessel has been completely damaged. There were no tourists on board,” she told reporters, noting that emergency teams responded promptly to contain the situation.
