In response to the ongoing law and order challenges, the government announced a nationwide coordinated search operation starting today, Sunday. Home Affairs Adviser Lt General (Retired) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury made the announcement after a high-level meeting at the Secretariat.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Jahangir emphasized that law enforcement agencies would intensify surveillance across the country to protect public safety. He warned that no criminal or troublemaker would be spared but urged citizens not to take the law into their own hands. He reiterated that maintaining law and order remains the responsibility of the state.

Addressing recent violence in Dhaka’s Mitford area, Jahangir confirmed that a swift investigation was underway. Seven individuals have been arrested so far, six of whom were identified through video footage. He assured the public that all perpetrators, regardless of their identity or affiliation, would face strict legal action.

The adviser warned that the government would take no compromises when it comes to public safety and assured that measures are in place to bring those arrested to justice.
