The Indian Premier League has solidified its status among the world’s top sporting leagues, with its overall business value climbing nearly 13 percent to an estimated 18.5 billion dollars, according to a 2025 brand valuation study.
The league’s individual brand value increased by nearly 14 percent, reaching 3.9 billion dollars. This growth is driven by expanding global reach, increased digital engagement, and strong interest from sponsors. Sponsorship revenues for the governing body surged by 25 percent, generating 173 million dollars from deals with several key partners. Additionally, the league’s title sponsor extended its partnership through 2028 in a deal valued at 300 million dollars, highlighting the league’s commercial strength.
In a surprising shift among franchise valuations, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has become the most valuable team, overtaking long-standing leaders Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. RCB’s brand value grew by 18.5 percent to 269 million dollars. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings experienced the fastest growth among all teams, with a 39.6 percent increase, while Lucknow Super Giants saw a 34 percent rise, reflecting expanding fan bases and stronger commercial partnerships.
