Qantas Named World’s Safest Airline with Top-Trained Pilots

Qantas has been crowned the world’s safest airline, with industry experts praising its pilots as the best trained, most disciplined, and most professional in the industry. The accolade comes from a comprehensive study conducted by 42kft.com, which analyzed 142 airlines worldwide.

According to editor-in-chief Geoffrey Thomas, Qantas’s safety record is “unmatched,” highlighting that the airline has led nearly every major operational safety advancement over the past 60 years. He emphasized that “independent audits consider Qantas pilots to be the best trained, most disciplined and most professional in the industry.”

The study ranked Qatar Airways as the second-safest airline, followed by Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Emirates. Virgin Australia secured the sixth spot, while Jetstar was recognized as the second-safest low-cost airline.

In the low-cost carrier category, HK Express was named the leading airline, with the Jetstar Group, easyJet, Ryanair, and AirAsia Group also featured in the top five.

Mr. Thomas noted that the safety rankings are highly competitive, with margins between the top airlines being narrow. Unlike traditional safety assessments that rely on certification checklists, 42kft.com employs a “dynamic, data-driven methodology,” tracking real-world safety outcomes and updating its rankings daily.
