Alicia Silverstone Reflects on ‘Clueless’ Revival and Childhood Memories

1 min read

Alicia Silverstone, now 48, rose to stardom as the iconic Cher Horowitz in the beloved 1995 film Clueless. In April, Silverstone revealed plans to reprise her role for a TV series sequel, excited by the possibility of returning to her most famous character. She credits her recent appearance as her alter ego in Rakuten’s 2023 Super Bowl commercial for reigniting her enthusiasm.

Talking to People magazine about the idea of revisiting Cher, she said, “I didn’t think I’d ever revisit Cher again. And then I did it for the Super Bowl, yeah, and it was so much fun. We did it really at the Super Bowl.” However, Silverstone remained tight-lipped about the details of the reboot or the storyline, according to reports from femalefirst.co.uk.

Reflecting on her personal life, Silverstone shared a touching memory involving her 14-year-old son Bear, whom she shares with her former husband Christopher Jarecki. Her son first watched Clueless when he was just five years old. Although he didn’t fully understand the film, it had a surprising effect on him prompting him to kiss his mother more often, a sweet reminder of how movies can leave lasting impressions on children.
