A 20-year-old man has been formally charged following investigations into a series of alarming incidents at two fast-food restaurants. Police allege he filmed himself while entering the venues and spraying staff with an unidentified noxious substance.
Detectives say that over a span of nearly two weeks in April, the man visited a hamburger restaurant in Redcliffe and an ice cream shop in Southern River on four separate occasions. During each visit, he concealed his face and then allegedly sprayed the staff working inside and around the food preparation areas with an unknown, potentially harmful substance.
It is further claimed that he was recording these actions on his mobile phone during the incidents.
In connection with these events, police have also charged another 20-year-old man. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and determine the full extent of the incidents.
