Nationwide mourning is being observed on Tuesday in memory of those killed in the conflict-violence surrounding the quota reform movement. However, rejecting the state’s mourning, students individually and in groups called for photographs to be taken with red cloths tied around their eyes and circulated online on Tuesday.

The same picture was seen in the Facebook profiles of teachers and students of public and private universities in the country. Besides, many people have given their profile pictures with red clothes on their faces and eyes.

Actress Opi Karim published a red picture on her Facebook profile and wrote – Not only quota, the entire country needs reform. Actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila also changed her profile picture to red. Also, the current small-screen actress Sadia Ayman changed her Facebook profile picture and chose red.

Ayman Sadiq, the founder of the online education company ’10 Minute School’, and Munzerin Shahid, an English teacher of the same company, have changed their Facebook profiles to red. Many social media influencers including ‘Rafsan the younger brother’ are not left out.

Also, filmmaker Qamar Ahmad Simon, Akram Khan, producer Sara Afrin, Khizir Hayat Khan, Redwan Roni, Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Raj, actress Zakia Bari Mom, actor Nirab, actress Bipasha Kabir, Sohail Rana, Shahnaz Sumi, Sunerah and many other showbiz stars have changed their Facebook cover to the red color.

Earlier on Monday (July 29) night, in a statement from the anti-discrimination student movement, it was said that hundreds of students were killed and thousands of students were injured in the arbitrary firing of law and order forces based on the logical demands of ordinary students across the country.

Barbaric torture is being carried out in the name of remand by picking up innocent students through block raids on houses in the middle of the night like the invading forces of 1971.

The coordinators said that the officials of the current government are not accepting the demands of the students to solve the crisis, but they are brutally suppressing the students and giving more importance to the state resources than people’s lives.

Ordinary students are being mercilessly mocked every day without trial for the massacres and tortures committed by the state forces.

In protest against this, the students are requested to reject the national mourning and take photos with red clothes on their faces and eyes tomorrow (Tuesday) and do a massive campaign online
