Electric car maker Tesla CEO and social media X owner Elon Musk has postponed his scheduled visit to India. As per his previous scheduled, he was expecting to visit India by the end of this year. However, the CEO postponds the trip at the very last moment due to various work engagements at Tesla.

In India, the Lok Sabha elections started on Friday. Elon Musk was supposed to reach India on Sunday in the midst of this election. During the visit, he was scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hold initial discussions on Tesla’s investment in India. But in a message given to X a day before the scheduled time, this CEO of Tesla said, “Unfortunately, the visit to India has to be postponed due to massive backlog at Tesla. But I am very much looking forward to going to India later this year.”

British news agency Reuters published a report on Saturday citing four people familiar with Elon Musk’s decision to cancel his visit to India. According to Reuters, the visit was to announce plans for electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla to enter the South Asian market.
