Liberal’s Lakemba branch holds Ramadan Iftar in Sydney

The Lakemba branch of the Liberal Party of Australia (New South Wales Division) held its Ramadan Iftar in Sydney.

April 6 (Saturday) at 6:30 in the evening Shayan Yasser Zaman recited from the Holy Qur’an in a program moderated by Hema Jowardar. Sheikh Sonar Koruhlu discussed about the significance and virtues of the month of Ramadan.

After the iftar, the program started with the presentation of the national anthem of Australia and Bangladesh and a documentary film. The welcome speech was delivered by Lakemba Branch Liberal Party of Australia (New South Wales Division) President and former Councilor Shahe Zaman Titu.

Don Harwin, President Liberal Party of Australia (New South Wales Division) and Richard Shields State Director Liberal Party of Australia (New South Wales Division) sat on the dais and spoke.

They were welcomed with bouquets by Harry Stutchberry – State Executive Member and former President of the New South Wales Young Liberals, Martin Zeiter State Executive Member of the NSW Liberals and former Councilor for Parramatta, Joan Bromillo State Executive Member of the NSW Liberals and Treasurer of the Women’s Council, Councilor George Zakia Canterbury Bankstown , Councilor Charvel Abourad Canterbury Bankstown, Councilor Nicholas Smerdelli Georges River Council, Councilor Peter Camilleri Blacktown Council, Councilor Srini Pillamary Councilor Hornsby Shire Council Sajeda Akter City of Canterbury Bankstown Councillor, Ben Nastasi Liberal Party Oversight Committee Member and David Nouri Liberal Party Committee Member.
