Oceania country Australia has announced the start date of the holy month of Ramadan. Both Fatwah and Moonsighting authority have officially announced that tomorrow Monday will be the last day of the month of Shaban, and the holy month of Ramadan will start from Tuesday, March 12.

The Grand Mufti of Australia, in coordination with the Federal Council of Imams, Department of Fatwa and Sharia, said that the month of Shaban will end on Monday and fasting will begin on Tuesday.

On the other hand, the Moonsighting committee confirms today that the Moon has been sighted in Darwin.

Australia is located in the Eastern Hemisphere and is ahead of other countries in terms of time. Islamic lunar months start earlier in Australia than in countries in the Western Hemisphere.
