BHC in Canberra launches Bangladesh Expatriate Award

Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra launched the ‘Bangladesh Pravasi Award’ to recognize the contribution of Bangladeshi expatriates in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.

Bangladesh High Commission, 2nd of December, conferred the ‘Bangladesh Pravasi Award-2023’ on 9 expatriate Bangladeshis for legitimate sending of remittances, import of Bangladeshi products, and contribution to art, literature, and research.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia M Allama Siddiqui presented certificates and crests to the awardees in a ceremony organized on the occasion of National Expatriate Day. Australian Capital Territory Shadow Multicultural Minister Peter Kane was present as a special guest.

High Commissioner Allama Siddiqui delivered the chief guest speech on the occasion. He expressed hope that expatriate Bangladeshis will work as a bridge to improve the relations between Bangladesh and other countries of the world. The High Commissioner of Bangladesh emphasized presenting the rich heritage of Bangladesh to the next generation.
